Dog Park in the 2004 City Budget
Kurt Kimball, Grand Rapids City Manager, told a reporter from the GR Press that $25,000 was put into the 2004 budget for the creation of a city-sanctioned dog park. The next step in the process is Kurt's presentation of the budget before the city commissioners, which happens in May. After the commissioners approve the budget, we will be getting in touch with Kurt and map out our plan for involvement. Great news!

Otis needs a home
Are you interested in adopting a new companion animal? Otis will be a wonderful companion for someone who is willing to spend some time training and bonding with him. He's lived in four different places in his first year and really needs stability (and a great, permanent owner) in his life.
He loves to play with kids, adults and other dogs but can sometimes play a little rough with small kids and dogs. He is a very good-natured dog that loves to have those long ears scratched endlessly.
Otis is just a little over a year old, has been neutered and has all vaccinations up to date.
If you are interested, please contact Kathy after 6pm Monday through Friday and anytime on the weekends at 942-2395.

What does a dog do when he gets hold of a stick? Max's modus operandi is to tease Sadie.

Spring Scoop Up!
Spring is here. As a dog owner, you know what that means -- a little bit
extra in the backyard waiting to be scooped. The thing is, the parks also
have some lying around. So to show our community spirit and keep our parks
clean, we’re organizing the first annual “Spring Scoop Up!”
This volunteer event will take place on Saturday, April 26 beginning at
10:00 a.m. at several city parks. Just bring a scoop and some bags to join
in on the fun.
Just choose the park nearest you and let us know that you’re coming:
· Fuller
· Wilcox
· Cambridge
· Garfield
· Riverside
This is our chance to give back to our community and spread some goodwill.
We hope to see you there! To volunteer, e-mail info@grdogpark.com. Stay
tuned for details.
