Thanks!
Big thanks goes out to everyone that helped collect signatures for our petition. We are still tallying the petitions, but we have collected over 2,000 signatures so far.
Also, our web site continues to be a success as we are averaging over 1,000 hits to the site a day! Since its launch in early November, we have received about 900,000 hits total! Great news!

Another great petition drive!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered for the petition drive at the Grandville Pet Supplies Plus this past Saturday. And thanks to all the supporters who stopped by. We gathered more than 100 signatures. We’ll keep you posted as we tally the petitions that are coming in. Happy holidays!

Petition Drive at Pet Supplies Plus, Again!
Since we had such great success this past Saturday, we have reserved another table at Pet Supplies Plus! This time, the signing will be at the store in Grandville, near Rivertown Crossings Mall, this Saturday, December 21st, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
If you’d like to volunteer and show your support, please e-mail info@grdogpark.com with your availability for Saturday. Please specify if you’d like to partner with someone during your shift.

Results from Saturday
We collected about 250 signatures on Saturday, December 14, at Pet Supplies Plus on Alpine. Thanks to everyone that participated! We are going to try to schedule at least one more signing event before our petition deadline... stay tuned!

Dog Parks in Master Plan
Yesterday, the City Commission approved the 5 Year Recreation Master Plan 2003-2007. Contained within Chapter 6 - Action Plan, are recommendations for future facility improvements. Among the many recommendations, it includes the following, “Conduct a feasibility study for the provision of dog parks within the City.”

Advance at Cambridge Park
The Grand Rapids Advance Newspaper will be out at Cambridge Park on Friday, December 13, at 12:15 p.m., to find out more about our need for community dog parks in Grand Rapids and take some photos of the dogs playing. Please stop by and show your support!

Good News!
According to the article, “Some parks may go to the dogs”, in The Grand Rapids Press on Thursday, December 5, “Grand Rapids city commissioners said Tuesday they are willing to consider “dog parks” in the city...”
Let’s keep the signatures rolling in and send the message that our tax dollars are enough to create community dog parks within Grand Rapids!

Please note: There are two different forms. One for Grand Rapids city residents and one for non-city residents. The City Commissioners are primarily concerned with Grand Rapids city residents, but we encourage anyone that is supportive of this issue to sign our petition. Every signature counts!
