Off-leash fundraising kick-off
On Saturday, October 2nd from 10am to 4pm, the Grand Rapids Dog Park Enthusiasts, in cooperation with the city of Grand Rapids, will be having our first fundraising event for our new off-leash area at Hillcrest Park. We will be gathering at the baseball diamond behind the suggested off-leash area. Please email Laurel at lpruski@comcast.net if you’d like to volunteer. If you’d like to sponsor the event, please email Gwen at gwen@grdogpark.com. Stay tuned for details.

Specifically, we'll need volunteers to welcome guests at the gates and also to work as "floaters" within the park to share information about the project with the public. Please email me with information about your volunteer interests and availability. Thank you!

Congradulations!!
For the fundraising event, contact all the local pet supply stores, the dog bakery, grooming shops, vet clinics, etc. to get help to fill out the festivities. They could set up tables and give away free info, tennis balls, bandanas and treats. I'm sure they would love the free advertising! Especially putting up flyers for the event at both PETSMARTs', Pet Supplies Plus & Chow Hound would bring in the crowds. Maybe some kids in the neighborhood would want to organize a dog washing station or someone with a polaroid camara and a bunch of old dress up clothes could hold a "Most Ecentric Dog" contest. Also D-jays from local radio stations could be approached to come out and be the announcers, hence more publicity!
