Grand Rapids Press Article
Unfortunately, The Grand Rapids Press decided to take our positive volunteer effort, our 1st Annual Spring Scoop Up, and put a negative, political twist on it -- in their article, "Some feel funding bite, anger at dog park plan".
Please voice your comments on this article and how you feel our cause was presented. We are drafting a letter to the editor in response to this article and would welcome your suggestions.

What happened to the "past" proceeds for the Festiwal Polski from area Colleges? Did they get called them a few names too? Someone should have the GR Press look into that. Surely that's big news - maybe even a scandal? Maybe the group needs better leadership with actual people skills!

As an owner of a retire racing greyhound, a dog park is something that would be of great use to myself, as well as to the many other greyhound owners in Grand Rapids. I am a little surprised that Tom Uzarski feels that a dog park, something that can be enjoyed by all year round, is stupid. A dog park is an improvement to the city just like a ethnic festival.

I went to a dog park in Lansing this past weekend and my dogs really enjoyed it! They were so tired that they slept in the car all the way back home to Grand Rapids. It was such a great release for my dogs to be able to run and play together, and with other dogs. This in turn makes them better pets in my home and neighborhood because they are much happier without all that pent-up energy! They had the mental and physical excercise they needed.
